License & Activation Problems
What each BIMPulse license status message means and how to fix sign-in, seat, subscription, and connection problems in Navisworks.
Navisworks Manage 2025–2027 · Updated
Check your license status
In Navisworks, click Account Settings on the BIMPulse ribbon tab. The Account & Options window opens, with a status line next to your name. When everything is working, the status line shows your email address. Problems show a ⚠ warning icon and one of the messages below.
If you belong to more than one organization, the window also shows an organization dropdown. It shows which organization your license comes from, and you can switch organizations there.
Status messages and fixes
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | You're signed in and licensed. | Nothing. If tool buttons are still greyed out, see BIMPulse Not Showing in Navisworks. |
| Not signed in | BIMPulse doesn't know who you are yet. | Click Sign in. |
| Acquiring license… | BIMPulse is checking your license. | Wait a few seconds. If it doesn't change, sign out and sign in again. |
| Sign-in failed — please try again | The sign-in didn't complete. | Click Sign in again. See Sign-in problems. |
| A message about your email | Your account's email address hasn't been verified yet. | Open the verification email from BIMPulse and click its link, then sign in again. |
| No seats available | Every license your organization can use right now is taken. | Wait for a teammate to close Navisworks, or ask an admin to add seats or assign you a Named license. With a Named license, close BIMPulse on any other computer you're signed in on: a Named license covers one computer at a time. |
| Subscription inactive — contact your administrator | Your organization has no active subscription. | Ask an owner or admin of your organization to renew or buy a subscription from the Billing or Purchase tab of the dashboard. |
| You're not a member of this organization | Your account isn't part of the organization BIMPulse tried to use. | If you were invited, accept the invitation in your dashboard. If you belong to another organization, pick it from the organization dropdown. |
| Registration incomplete — please complete your account setup | You're signed in, but your account doesn't have a workspace yet. | Sign in at bimpulse.ai, open your dashboard, and finish the Complete Your Profile step. BIMPulse checks again about once a minute. |
| No organization linked to this account | Same as above: there's no workspace for this account. | Open your dashboard at bimpulse.ai, then sign out of BIMPulse and sign in again. |
| License error — please try again | BIMPulse couldn't confirm your license, often because of a dropped connection. | Check your internet connection. BIMPulse retries about once a minute. If it keeps happening, sign out and sign in again, then contact support. |

Sign-in problems
- Use the same account as the website. Sign in with the email address and sign-in method you use at bimpulse.ai.
- BIMPulse doesn't sign you in on its own the first time. Open Account Settings and click Sign in. After that, BIMPulse signs you in automatically each time Navisworks starts.
- The sign-in window is blank or won't open. It uses the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which is included with Windows 11. On other computers, install it from Microsoft and try again.
- To use a different account, click Sign out, then Sign in with the other account.
Connection errors
If BIMPulse can't reach the internet or its license service when you sign in, you'll see a BIMPulse – Error message that starts with An unexpected error occurred:, followed by either No internet connection is available. or The BIMPulse API is unavailable.
- Check that the computer is online and that you can open bimpulse.ai in a browser.
- If you're on a VPN or a corporate network with a proxy, ask IT whether it blocks the connection.
- If the connection is fine, the service may be down briefly. Try again in a few minutes.
There's no offline mode
BIMPulse needs an internet connection the whole time you use it. It re-checks your license about once a minute, and if a check fails, the tool buttons become unavailable until a later check succeeds. Windows you already have open stay open.
How seats are taken and released
- BIMPulse takes a seat when you sign in, and keeps it while Navisworks is open.
- The seat is released when you close Navisworks, sign out, or switch to another organization.
- If Navisworks crashes or the computer loses power, the seat can't be released straight away. It frees up automatically within about 10 minutes.
- A Named license is used on one computer at a time. If you open BIMPulse on a second computer while the first is still running, the second one needs a free Floating seat.
