Navisworks Manage 2025–2027 · Updated

Before you start

Check that your computer has:

  • 64-bit Windows that meets Autodesk's system requirements for your version of Navisworks
  • Autodesk Navisworks Manage 2025, 2026, or 2027
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.1
  • Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, used by the sign-in window (included with Windows 11)
  • Administrator rights to run the installer

You also need a BIMPulse account to download the installer. If you don't have one yet, see Creating Your Account. Every new account starts with a free 30-day trial, so you don't need to buy anything first.

Close Navisworks first

Close every Navisworks window before you install or update. Navisworks loads plugins when it starts and keeps their files locked while it runs.

Download the installer

  1. Sign in at bimpulse.ai

Click Login at the top of any page on this site and sign in with your BIMPulse account.

  2. Open the Downloads tab

In your dashboard, open Downloads. It lists the latest version, its release notes, and the version history.

  3. Click Download Now

Your browser downloads the installer, BIMPulse.Navisworks.Installer.exe.

Run the installer

  1. Open the file you downloaded

The BIMPulse Navisworks Setup window checks for an existing version, then shows Ready to install BIMPulse Navisworks.

  2. Click Install

When Windows asks whether to let the app make changes to your device, click Yes. BIMPulse installs for every Windows user on the computer, so it needs administrator rights.

  3. Wait for it to finish

When the status reads BIMPulse Navisworks has been installed., the setup window closes by itself and Windows shows a BIMPulse Plugin Installed Successfully notification.

BIMPulse is installed to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\BIMPulse.Navisworks.bundle, the folder Navisworks checks for plugins when it starts. One installation covers every supported version of Navisworks Manage on the computer.

If setup shows Setup failed. or won't start, see Installation Issues.

Check that BIMPulse loaded

  1. Start Navisworks Manage

As Navisworks opens, Windows shows a BIMPulse Plugin Successfully Loaded notification.

  2. Find the BIMPulse tab

A BIMPulse tab appears on the ribbon. Its Tools panel holds Account Settings, Search Set Gen, Viewpoint Generator, Pulse Check, and Clash Generator.

Tool buttons start out greyed out

Every button except Account Settings stays unavailable until you sign in and open a Navisworks file that has been saved. That's expected. First-Time Setup walks through signing in.

No tab and no notification? See BIMPulse Not Showing in Navisworks.

Updating BIMPulse

BIMPulse checks for a new version each time Navisworks starts. You can update automatically or straight away.

  • Automatically: when you close Navisworks and a newer version is available, BIMPulse downloads it. Windows asks for permission to make changes, and the update installs without any more clicks.
  • Straight away: open Account Settings. When an update is available, the bottom of the window shows New Version and an Update button. Click Update, then choose Quit Session Now to close Navisworks and update, or Wait Until Quit to update the next time you close Navisworks.

To see which version you have, open Account Settings and look for Version at the bottom of the window. Release notes for every version are on the Downloads tab.

Uninstalling BIMPulse

Close Navisworks, then use either of these:

  • In Windows, open Settings > Apps > Installed apps, find BIMPulse Navisworks, and choose Uninstall.
  • Run the installer again and click Uninstall.

Uninstalling removes the plugin from Navisworks. It doesn't cancel your subscription or free up a Named license; manage those from your dashboard.
